OWNER & PILOT
Ion has combined his passion for food, his love of people, and respect for community, to create The WORKS & mold it into a very successful & award winning Ottawa concept. Voted "Restaurateur of the Year" in 2009, he continues to use The WORKS as a vehicle to support favored institutions & community groups like University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health, The Ottawa Food Bank, The Snowsuit Fund, The United Way and numerous small neighborhood groups.
Ion is from Montreal originally and visits frequently for great music food & fun. He grew up alot in The Eastern Townships where his Mom Cotton lives, and he loves to ski at Sutton or river run in nearby Vermont. He lives in a 120 year old farmhouse that he is renovating on 5 acres in Navan, and enjoys photography, downhill skiing, cooking in his fabulous kitchen, riding his Shadow 750 or his mountain bike, designing anything, but mostly spending time with his two sons Ryan & Parker, Pam the Wonder Woman, his dogs Towser & Cashew, Tom the farm cat, and the beautiful land that surrounds him.

DIRECTOR of OPERATIONS
Sean adds much flavor and energy to the Burger Central team. He was a GM at O'Toole's years ago, and a partner at Marshy's where he ran a stellar operation in the incredibly busy Scotiabank Place for many years. He then spearheaded the expansion & franchising arm of a local chain across Ontario & the Maritimes, before contacting me over the last year. He was very persistent and professional, and that's what caught my eye.
He oversees the operations of all 6 locations, and will also add vitality & structure, while continuing what made us great….nurturing our fab teammates & guests !!
Sean has 2 fabulous kids…Chelsea, who is studying at Ottawa U and Conor who works hard and plays harder. Both light up his life. He and his beautiful girlfriend Brigitte share a lovely home together in Orleans. An older version of Justin Bieber, Sean can be found at the local Goodlife fitness centre working out to retain that fine boyish figure...can you believe he's lost 400 pounds!?

OFFICE MANAGER
Evey is the life of The WORKS and the Glebe…well known by the whole community as "Super Mom" she is the proud Mom of 2 of the coolest kids I know…Tom and Hannah. She is our Office Manager & is the glue that keeps our Burg Central team on track. She operates the Bank Street office, controls the flow of info, runs all the numbers, and makes a fine pot of tea!! Funnily enough, she & I grew up within blocks of each other in Montreal, and we tell endless "Westmount" stories about our rough upbringing...right! Evelyn loves life & dislikes my music…but despite that she is a joy to be with day in and day out!!

MARKETING MANAGER
Angela Angela…fave expression is "Toss Toss" and her favorite PGA golfer is Mike Doyon. Besides that she acts as our superb Marketing & Promotion Manager. She handles all incoming requests for donations, which number in the thousands; all advertising & in-house promos; and maintains a bevy of contacts that she uses to "Brand" The WORKS all over the continent. Angela, a.k.a. "Trucker" (you figure it out) keeps everyone laughing & smiling, and does so while oozing The WORKS to all staff & guests she comes in contact with.

OPERATIONS MANAGER
James came to The WORKS from…actually, I don't have a clue where he came from, but that nickname says it all. He is always a big kid having fun and spreading his calm cheer all over The WORKS, and the world. James opened the Orleans WORKS location 2 years ago and has since brought his talent to the Burger Central crew. His incredible work ethic, strong staff interaction, and organizational skills that have helped him grow quickly, and will help him evolve as an Ops Manager, and help us move into the next decade as a strong chain across Canada.
He's handsome…he's a sweet man…he likes classical music & the opera…Hmmmm, yup, he is single girls!!!!
Towser

WONDERDOG
Towser was found roaming the streets of Stittsville in summer 2008 and sent to rehab at the Humane Society. After a stint there without any infractions, and after I spent a few weeks in the Heart Institute last April, we met one fateful day … and the rest is beautiful history !! Cashew needed a more active environment with room to roam, and found it with The Tow' and myself in Navan. She ain't smart, but she is adorable and smelly!!
He runs the fields, escort me on my many bike rides, love country power walks, and even a few dates; bit mostly helps me stay calm and grounded. He comes to the office every day, and in fact put in more hours in the office than Angela most weeks. I love them and they love to eat well, (fave Burg, of course The Growler Five-0) … so it's a perfect relationship!!
